Dear Brycen,
It all started when you woke up him the middle of the night throwing up, Mommy was scared to death that you were throwing up and at the time you were sleeping in bed with me and daddy. Mommy had been sick with a stomach virus just a few days before that I got at work. So as soon as the Dr office open I called to make you and appt. I didn't want you to be sick, I was so upset that you had gotten it from me most of all. I hated to think I got my baby boy sick. So when the office opened and I called they said bring you in, so I did just that, and they said yes it was a stomach virus and there wasn't much we could do but to keep you hydrated (make sure you have enough fluids). And we tried to do just that, but everything we gave you, you either wouldn't take it or you would throw it right back up. So we were watching your diapers to make sure you were peeing but you weren't and one of you diapers had orange chalk looking stuff it in. (daddy said i drooped something in your diaper which I knew I didn't) So you weren't peeing, it felt like it had been forever. So we called to Dr to tell them you had not peed in a while and would not keep anything down or would not take what we would try and give you. So we told us we could try and give you cereal and see how you did, but I no sooner got it into your mouth and you were throwing up again. So I talked to meme (but meme was in the hospital at this time to) and she wasn't sure what to do. The Dr told us to give you 7up so I tried that and you wouldn't take that either. So finally I called Rita (my supervisor at work, who I trust alot) and told her what was going on and asked her what to do, she told me to try some kool-aid and I tried that and you wouldn't take it either and then I called her back and told her how long it had been since you had peed. She then said take that baby straight to the ER he is dehydrated. So when we got to the ER they took us right back, They then started checking you temp and everything and you just started getting weaker and weaker, you didn't fight or even after like you were upset. You were just wore out, no sleep, and no food. Right after that they took us on back and put us in a room, they then came to draw your blood and told us they would let us know as soon as they knew something. Then they came in and wanted to start and IV they wanted to go ahead and get some fluid running, they tried 4 times what felt like to me a million, and I had just told your daddy they wont stick you no more in the ER I was done, They will only stick him up on peds. So they came in and told us his blood work came back bad and he would have to be admitted. So they sent us upstairs to your room and the nurses came in and told us you needed an IV (which we knew you would) so they said they like to take them to another room, would we like to go with them or stay in the room, and of course I went, no one was taking my baby anywhere with out me. So we went with them and they got it so fast and so easy. ( I was very pleased) although they did get it in your head I knew that would be the best place since you wouldn't notice it or bother it, which you didn't, you noticed it and I moved your hand away from it, and you didn't bother it again. You were there 2 nights and a few days and you did OK, Finally mommy could get you take your bottle and breastfeed. So once you kept it down we got to go home. Your nurses were great but your nurse both nights on midnights was AMAZING!!!

First night in the hospital
IV in your little head
Sleeping with mommy in the chair
Mommy's little boy, so sick
Mommy and Daddy were so sad to see you with an IV in your head but knew it was your only way to get better, and they did a great job at getting you better. We love you baby boy.
Love always.
